For the first, anxiously-awaited view of Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor – yes, the name of the latest royal baby at last has been revealed – Meghan Markle and Prince Harry chose the splendor of Windsor Castle’s St. Georges Hall.
For just a few moments, the giddy new parents stood in front of the cameras, smiling and offering banal comments about their new experience.
“It’s magic. It’s pretty amazing. I have the two best guys in the world so I’m really happy,” said Meghan who, for her debut as a new mother, chose a white sleeveless dress described by fashionistas as “modern” and “brave.”
She stood next to Harry, who was holding the well-wrapped, two-day-old Archie Harrison #royalbaby.
She appeared both radiant and emotional as she described their baby: “He has the sweetest temperament; he’s really calm,” she said. “I don’t know who he gets that from,” Harry added as they both laughed nervously.
They chose not to reveal the name of the baby until later in the afternoon when they wrote on their Instagram account: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are pleased to announce they have named their first-born child: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.”
“This afternoon Their Royal Highnesses introduced Her Majesty The Queen to her eighth great-grandchild at Windsor Castle. The Duke of Edinburgh and The Duchess’ mother were also present for this special occasion.”
Two hours after the photo call, the couple posted their three favorite pictures on their own official Instagram. account: “Today The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to share their first public moment as a family.
They are so incredibly grateful for the warm wishes and support they’ve received from everyone around the world, since welcoming their son two days ago.”
If the predictions are right, the baby’s photos will add a third record to their list of social media accomplishments. They broke their second record when their official birth announcement got one million likes in less than an hour and has now over 2.7 million likes : “We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz.
The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives.
More details will be shared in the forthcoming days. ”
They already had made it into the Guinness Book of Records when their new Instagram account, @sussexroyal, got more than one million followers within six hours of launch.
When asked who the baby most resembles, Prince Harry said they would have to “monitor him over the next month” because “his looks are changing every day.”
