“I’m a bit disappointed to read that people are using my words to enforce their own perceptions and assumptions pointing towards things that are not MY TRUTH OR REALITY,” the former athlete wrote.
Lamar Odom isn’t here for anyone criticizing his new relationship with Sabrina Parr.
After the former NBA player, 39, praised his girlfriend in a sweet Instagram post on Saturday, Odom was attacked by trolls who claimed his post was a diss to his ex-wife Khloe Kardashian. A few hours later, the ex-professional athlete hit back at the critics in a second post.
It all began when Odom shared a photo of Parr along with a quote from Malcolm X.
“It’s just like when you’ve got some coffee that’s too black, which means it’s too strong, what do you do? You integrate it with cream… But if you pour too much cream in it, you won’t even know you ever had coffee,” the quote read. “It used to be hot, it becomes cool. It used to be strong, it becomes weak. It used to wake you up, now it puts you to sleep.” Odom added the hashtag “#blackroyalty.”
Many haters flooded to the comments section and accused Odom of comparing Parr to Khloe. Some critics even seemed to suggest Odom was shading Khloe’s race.
“I am REALLY DISAPPOINTED in you Lamar, you go from talking about love and good vibes to throw shade towards the woman who saved your life????” a person wrote and another added, “We are all individual Khloe has her beauty and she may have hers so stop comparing. I am a black woman but I choose Khloe period.”
A few hours later, Odom shared another photo of Parr and expressed that his previous post was to praise his new relationship, not a means to compare his current girlfriend to his ex.
